I've rid my life of iPhoto
Thanks to a terrific tip from my friend Matt, I've successfully replaced iPhoto as my photo manager with Adobe's Bridge. For those who don't know, iPhoto is easily Apple's weakest program; I've experienced nothing but frustration with it. Bridge, on the other hand, is absolutely terrific, although a little bit advanced for me right now. Ideally Google would release a version of Picasa for Mac. Picasa is the greatest base-level picture manager I've ever used.

Way to go. i would just like to tell you that the Google Reader tip you gave me has changed my blogging life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
When I worked at Apple people would bother me all the time about Picasa on Macs. I didn't care then and I don't care now (maybe I will when I try it), but it looks like it will be making Mac users' impromptu coffee shop slideshows easier later this year:

Thanks for doing the research, Bridger, but don't be fooled: I read that same article last year and there is still no Picasa for Mac.
I'll believe it when I see it.
I am definitely looking around for alternatives to iPhoto. I'm just getting so impatient with this no-Picasa drought.
Although I could easily do this research myself, is Picasa used for editing photos or just organizing photos?
Derek,
You can use Picasa to do the most basic photo editing, but its real strength is in its organizing capabilities.
I will have to try it out... and welcome back we've missed your two cents in the blog world.
ps your racquet looks amazing!
Jordan, this is Kristie. I'm glad you made this decision, I've been frustrated w/ iphoto. Can one upload photoshop onto one's mac? My mom has it for her pc, but I assume I can't use that on my mac.
That's my nan's farm!
I got rid of iPhoto and went to Bridge this summer too. I used to wish that there were a mac version of picasa, but I Bridge is way more powerful. I just don't know what they were thinking with the ugly dark grey.
Jordan! What are you up to? Will you ever grace us with your presence again down here in the Provo?
